Cafe Portofino is the hidden gem of a coffee shop I have been waiting for - now it's finally shining under new ownership! I stopped in recently and was blown away. And now I'm there a few times a week. The coffee and espresso? Legitimately excellent--on par with some of the best third-wave shops on Long Island. Rich, smooth, perfectly brewed. You can tell they're serious about quality. The beans they use are from one of the best shops on Long Island, Flux Coffee in Farmingdale. The vibe here is warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. Great for meeting a friend, working, or just want to escape life for a bit. Fast Wi-Fi, plenty of comfortable seating, and a great selection of snacks that go way beyond your average cafe fare. What makes it even better is how much they clearly care about the local community. The staff is friendly and attentive, and there's a real neighborhood feel here - it feels like community. If you haven't been since the change in ownership, GO! Cafe Portofino is doing everything right. The secret is out. You're welcome.

My vegan friend and I visited a cozy cafe in Northport for a quick coffee and bite. We both ordered avocado toast, which was incredibly delicious. My friend opted for a more elaborate coffee, while I settled for a regular one. It was good, but I’ve never been to this place before, so I’m excited to explore their menu further in the future.

My family and I went here this weekend for the first time and we’re so happy we discovered it! We live ten minutes away and were looking for a new coffee place on Google and this popped up. The staff is beyond kind and accommodating. You feel like you are hanging out with friends. The coffee is amazing as is the breakfast! Super cute cafe, clean and cozy. I think they have some new regulars!

I live in Northport and have altered my routine to come here for coffee. The new owners are friendly and personable, the coffee and food are delicious, and sitting here is so much more convenient, comfortable, and enjoyable than driving to Starbucks. Plus it opens early (unlike the other Main Street coffee shop Southdown.) The last time I was here the owner, Joe, told me he's planning on live music, poetry readings, and other specials nights, just like a real coffee house. If you're on Main Street looking for coffee, a bite to eat, or a place to sit, I heartily recommend taking a walk to the theater and hotel area of the street to visit.

Start your walk through Northport with this gem. It’s across from Engeman theater. The coffee is delicious, the treats are tasty and gorgeous. Even have a moist and yummy gluten free muffin. They even have live music on the weekend. Don’t miss out on this jewel in Northport village!

The new owner makes it feel like a new place. The food and coffee was delicious, had a nice cozy place to sit and the staff was amazing. I will definitely be going back!

The iced coffee was great and the espresso was one of the best I've had on Long Island. I also tried an avocado toast with eggs, turkey and bacon which was also good! They have a lot of seating, and the staff was very friendly.
